Falling Uphill — Grassroots Affiliate Program

As I mentioned, why let the impersonal megastores take all the profit? Join my affiliate program and earn up to 55% of the cover price of the book.

For the record, a traditonal publishing agreement pays the author only 7-14% of the cover price, which after you deduct my expenses, is about what I will earn through this affiliate program depending on the time frame and quantity of books sold. However, my main goal is to create a community of friends and entrepreneurs, and not only create the buzz that "Falling Uphill" needs to become a true success, but also build a foundation for the next project.

Essentially this is the outline for a turn-key grassroots affiliate program for other entrepreneurs that would like to co-operate and co-create a fulfilling, rewarding and independent lifestyle. Be your own bookstore. Be your own boss, Be your own opportunity.

Who is the affiliate program good for?

1. Someone who has read "Falling Uphill" and feels passionate about the story and message.
2. Someone who has an entrepreneurial spirit.
3. Someone that has a strong sense of community.
4. Someone who is interested in co-operating to co-create a fulfilling, rewarding and independent lifestyle for everyone involved.
5. Someone that is able and is willing to create their own opportunities. The best solution will be the solution that you create to fit your goals.
6. Someone who is willing to take a small risk to invest the time and energy to promote the book.

Who is the affiliate program not good for?

1. It took me a few painful lessons to figure out: there is no easy path to an easy life. So, if you're not passionate about this project, you probably will never find the motivation to succeed. However, if you are passionate about spreading Falling Uphill's inspirational, pick-yourself-up-by-the-bootstraps message, then your success will be the byproduct of your passion. That goes for anything you attempt in life.
2. The affiliate program is designed for entrepreneurs that intend to participate on an ongoing basis, with deep discounts to reward their personal investment in time, money and energy. If you are interested in a one-time shipment at a bulk discount please contact me.

There are certainly hundreds of solutions. Here are a couple ideas to start. (I am searching for additional methods that affiliate members can get started without any cost.)

1. Create new opportunities, such as organize a local lecture tour for Scott and take a percentage of the profit (TBD).
2. Make connections to local media. Get a story in the newspaper. Get a radio interview, and get paid for every opportunity you create. (Amount TBD.)
3. Place orders with your local retail stores, groups and organizations. I can then drop ship the books directly to your customer.
4. Alternativley, purchase a case of books in advance, at a 55% discount (plus applicable tax, shipping and handling) and begin selling them to your local sources. Note: also get credit for returns, should you opt out of the program. There's a wide enough margin that you can offer a discount to undercut the online bookstores. You can also offer your customer's an even better deal if your deliver the books to them and eliminate the shipping charges, which can be $3-4 per book if you are shipping them individually.
5. Begin selling the books off your own website. I'm currently looking for an implementation solution.
6. Submit your idea.
